The Great Tsunami
The phone rang at 7:00am Saturday morning. “Sammy! Did I wake you?” asked my sister. “No, I’ve been awake for an hour. What’s up?” “I just heard on the news that the earthquake in Chile caused a tsunami and that its arrival in Hawaii in imminent!” Panic grabbed me by the throat. Running into the living room, I snapped on the television. “What time is it in Hawaii? Is it too early to call Veronica?” she asked.

Downsizing Medicare
What Obamacare is really all about is “spreading the wealth around”. It is about stripping wealth from the remaining Traditionalists (the World War II generation) and retiring Baby Boomers on Medicare by making them pay more for treatment, and from “the rich” who will pay higher taxes—and handing their wealth to the uninsured, "special groups" and the unions, Democrat constituents all.

The Great Divider
“Two doctors at our hospital quit tonight after healthcare passed,” said a local nurse. The Election of Scott Brown
Republicans should not get too excited about what happened in Massachusetts. The wave that swept Scott Brown into office may very well sweep the entire political class from whence they now perch. Our fury is not aimed only at Democrats. We are mad at politicians.

Pandora's Box.
Yesterday was a new record for medical marijuana applications: 1800. That means in a typical month we can expect to have over 35000 potheads registering in Colorado to get high in a dispensary that sells not pills, not medicine prescribed by a doctor, but “gourmet weed” for happy potheads.

Gangland Politics.
Colorado is in a battle. Ignoring warnings of what might happen if it passed, voters based on compassionate arguments approved an ordinance permitting medical use of marijuana. It was a measure intended to help those people with severe illnesses, primarily cancer, to manage pain and nausea. As with all “do good” ideas, it is now a disaster.
